Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Technical Office Engineer at Short Circuit Company in Giza. The Technical Office Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as creating lux calculations, technical quotes, shop drawings, preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and collaborating with civil and electrical engineering teams on projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lighting Design and Calculations: Utilize lighting design software (i.e. Dialux) to create detailed lighting designs, perform photometric calculations, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Product Selection and Specification: Select appropriate lighting fixtures, controls, and accessories based on project requirements, energy efficiency considerations, and budgetary constraints.
Technical Drawings and Documentation: Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and other necessary documentation for project implementation.
Tender and Proposal Support: Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and tenders, including cost estimation and technical specifications.
Client Coordination: Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to understand project requirements, address technical queries, and ensure project success.
Industry Standards and Regulations: Stay updated on the latest lighting technologies, industry standards (e.g., IES, CIE), and building codes.
Product Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's product range, including technical specifications, performance characteristics, and applications.
Requirements
Shop Drawings and BOQ preparation skills
Knowledge in Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering
Experience in Quantity Surveying
Strong background in using CAD and Dialux evo.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Bachelor's degree in electrical Engineering or related field
Good command of English language is a must
